The Annual Parish Meeting is called by the Chairman of the Council and is held for local government electors to have their say – it is not a council meeting. It is a meeting of the parish or town electors, electors can contribute to the agenda and this tries to celebrate local activities and debate current issues in the Parish.
Defford and Besford Parish Council serves the residents of both Defford and Besford parishes and is served by three Council members in Besford and a further six members who are resident in Defford. Parish Council elections are held every four years, the next elections being due in May 2019.
